Mastopexy, Augmentation/Mastopexy
Mastopexy, or a breast lift, focuses on lifting and firming sagging breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. This procedure is ideal for individuals whose breasts have lost their youthful shape and position due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or significant weight changes. A breast lift can rejuvenate the breast’s appearance, providing a more youthful and contoured look.
Sometimes the breasts have lost sufficient volume that a patient may desire not only a more lifted appearance, but fuller breasts as well. This is when we discuss combining a mastopexy with an augmentation.
45 year old patient with tuberous breast deformity. She had always been bothered by her breast shape and didn’t like the further deflation following breast feeding. She wanted a similar size but a perkier and more youthful look. We performed an augmentation/mastopexy and these are her results at 6 weeks.

58 year old female presented for revision breast surgery after having had two previous breast augmentations. Her first resulted in capsular contracture after which she was switched to a sub muscular plane. Unfortunately, this resulted in a waterfall deformity over time, where the breast tissue begins to descend past the implant, giving her a full upper pole and ptotic lower breast. She disliked how this looked and wanted a lifted nipple position and a softer upper pole. To attain this, we performed capsulectomy, plane exchange from sub muscular back to subglandular, implant exchange, and mastopexy. This was a challenging case and she had significant scar tissue from her previous surgeries.
